Belizean Students Return from US Technical Training Exchange

A group of Belizean students who recently participated in a specialized technical training experience in the United States is set to return home tomorrow following what organizers describe as a landmark educational exchange.  Six welding students from St. Ignatius High School are scheduled to arrive in Belize tomorrow at the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport after completing a ten-day educational trip to North Carolina in the United States.  The students were part of a delegation from the school’s Welding and Non-Destructive Testing program that traveled abroad from March 9 to throught to the 19th under a partnership between the school and the STEM U Foundation. The initiative was geared at strengthening technical education opportunities for Belizean students and provide exposure to industry-level training and certification pathways.   According to the school, the delegation included top-performing students enrolled in the program, many of whom are pursuing careers in welding and related technical fields. During their time in North Carolina, the students participated in hands-on learning activities designed to enhance their technical skills while also exposing them to modern industrial standards and career opportunities in STEM fields. The returning students are expected to share their experiences and insights gained from the trip with their classmates and the wider school community, helping to inspire greater interest in technical education among young Belizeans.
