Belizean Insurance Agent Charged in Deception Case

Police have formally arrested and charged a sixty-three-year-old Belizean man in connection with a case of obtaining money and property by deception that dates back nearly two years.  According to police, the case originated from a report made on April 12, 2024, involving allegations that rent payments were collected under deceptive circumstances. Investigators say the case file was later forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, which reviewed the matter and directed that charges be brought against Glenn Francis Longsworth, a Belizean insurance agent.  Authorities allege that Longsworth signed documents relating to the collection of rent from Indira Craig, which formed part of the investigation into the alleged deceptive transaction.  Police say several attempts were made to locate Longsworth in Ladyville, however, those efforts were unsuccessful at the time. As a result, a wanted poster was subsequently issued in an effort to locate him.  On March 17, police say Longsworth was formally arrested and charged with obtaining money transfer by deception and obtaining property by deception.  The matter is now before the court as the investigation continues.
