Belize Marks World Water Day with Focus on Access and Sustainability

Belize joined the global community today in celebrating World Water Day 2026 under the theme “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows,” with a series of events highlighting the nation’s commitment to sustainable water management and universal access.  Belize’s observation of World Water Day coincides with the efforts by the Ministry of Rural Transportation in providing potable water to remote villages across the country.  The ministry’s CEO Valentino Shal spoke with Love News, highlighting the works being done in the south and the dedication to ensuring universal access to water for every household.

This year’s World Water Day, also saw The Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste Management, through its World Water Day Committee led by the National Hydrological Service, organize an official ceremony and fair at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, bringing together government representatives, educators, students, and development partners .
