18-Year-Old Granted Bail on Damage to Property Charge

An 18-year-old man has been granted bail after being charged with damage to property.  Kareem Neal, a construction worker from Mahogany Heights, appeared before Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he was read the single charge.  Allegations are, that on January 31, in Mahogany Heights, Neal damaged a white metal door valued at $300 belonging to Brittney Bermudez.

Neal pleaded not guilty to the charge. With no objection to bail, the court granted him bail of $1,000 plus one surety of the same amount, subject to conditions. These include no contact or interference with the complainant or prosecution witnesses, and he must remain at least 100 feet away from the complainant.  The charge stems from a domestic-related incident.
